City of Concord Memorial Trees
The City of Concord Memorial Tree Program allows residents to donate a tree in honor of a friend, family member, or commemorative event. For a minimum donation of $150.00 residents can select an available location and complete an application form from our interactive map.

The City of Concord will plant donated trees between the months of November and February as these are the best months for tree planting. The City will warranty the tree for the first three years and provide perpetual maintenance while the tree is healthy and viable.

The Community Wildlife Habitat Certification project for the
City of Concord
The City of Concord was officially designated a Community Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation in February 2015. Concord was the 82nd community in the country and the fifth community in North Carolina to receive this honor.
Our city-wide celebration took place at the May 21, 2015 Union Street Live event.

The Going Wild Over Concord Project was initiated by the Concord Wildlife Alliance
in order to work with the City of Concord to achieve this goal.

Community Wildlife Habitat™, a national recognition program for neighborhoods, towns, cities, and counties, recognizes and celebrates community-wide efforts to green landscapes and buildings, improve air and water quality, restore vital wildlife habitat and improve the health and well-being of inhabitants--one property at a time. There's room for lots more conservation projects, habitat creation and environmental education, and we encourage you to join in!
The CWA began the extensive qualification process in 2014 with the City of Concord" to participate and take actionable steps to make a difference for the wildlife and environment. These actions are important for today but also impact future generations of citizens who will live, work, and play in our community.
Each year, every NWF Community Wildlife Habitat must maintain their status in the program by re-certifying with NWF.  This is an important process to maintain an active and vibrant network of communities working to protect wildlife for our children's future. Concord has more than 400 certified wildlife habitats, including 15 schools!  CWAs goal is to certify all of Cabarrus County schools.
