Clean & Green

NC WILDLIFE FEDERATION'S CLEAN & GREEN PROGRAM

This program was started in February 2020 to mobilize volunteers across the state to collect trash and turn it in for native trees and shrubs to plant in the community. It has been a very successful program so far and CWA is proud to be a part of the effort. You can read more about the program here.
State wide so far 62,003 lbs of trash have been collected and 1600 trees and shrubs have been planted. Additionally, 1,169 pollinator plants have been planted.

In March 2020, CWA volunteers got out and collected
395 lbs. of trash locally and raised $335.

In September, during our Adopt-A-Stream event, we gave
participants a tree or shrub to plant in their neighborhoods.

On November, 7, 2020 CWA volunteers planted 14 native trees and shrubs at our pollinator garden in McGee Park in Concord. Thanks to all the young ladies from the Concord Youth Council!
The following Saturday the remainder of the trees were planted at Rob Wallace Park in Midland.
