CWA Helps to Preserve Wildlife Habitat
- Plant pollinator gardens and educate others on how to do so. We currently maintain two pollinator gardens - the J.W. McGee Park Greenway and YMCA Community Share the Harvest Farm.
- Recertify the City of Concord as a wildlife habitat yearly and working with the city planners on best choices for what to plant on city property. Learn more Here
- Support the NCWF state organization on state-wide projects. We have donated money to support the Let Them Spawn legislation initiative and historically have given back half of what we receive from our annual fundraiser to the NC Wildlife Federation. Learn more about NCWF Here.
- In November 2015, working with CWA, the City of Concord Mayor signed the National Wildlife Federation's "Mayors' Monarch Pledge" in an effort to take action to help save the Monarch Butterfly and other pollinators. Learn more Here
- Certification of backyards, schools, businesses and communities help wildlife survive urbanization. Learn more about certifying Here.
- Semi-annual native plant sales through Tesh-Troxler Landscaping provides citizens a place to purchase native plants and also supports the organization. Look for more information on our Facebook and website in April and September.
